‘Unplaced Nedbank employees will be retrenched in August’: SASBO
Nedbank will serve retrenchment letters to employees who have not been placed in permanent positions as of the 1st of August.
This follows consultations that began in May 2019 with finance union, SASBO, after Nedbank had disclosed that a group of employees were at risk of not being placed in permeant posts.
Dismissed employees will receive retrenchment packages.
However, SASBO spokesperson Wayne Hattingh says that they are appealing to the bank to improve the retrenchment packages.
“SASBO will fight tooth and nail to mitigate the effects of retrenchment,” says Hattingh.
