[UPDATE] Suspect nabbed for apparent assassination attempt on SABC executive
Gauteng police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with an apparent assassination attempt on South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) chief audit executive, Thami Zikode.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested on Saturday, less than 24 hours after the incident.
Police spokesperson, Mavela Masondo says a manhunt has been launched for three other gunmen.
Zikode was followed home from the public broadcaster's head office in Auckland Park on Friday evening when gunmen fired several shots at him.
Masondo says a firearm and a vehicle that was abandoned in Southgate were confiscated.
