Veteran Gospel star Solly Moholo dies

Veteran Gospel music star Solly Moholo has died at the age of 65.
Solomon Molokoane, also known as 'Solly Moholo', had been hospitalised for several weeks after falling ill while on a music tour in Botswana last month.
His management confirmed the news of his passing on his Facebook page.
The award winning muso was known for hits such as "Die poppe sal dans" ,Ka letsatsi labofelo, Tsoha Jonase and many others.
His music was prominent in early 2000, and was affectionately seen as an ambassador of Zion Christian Church music due to his Evangelical music that was fused with township lingo style.
Funeral and memorial arrangements for the late music icon are yet to be announced.
"Dear Solly Moholo Fans, It is with great sadness that we are informing you on behalf of the Molokoane family, that is Solly Moholo's family, that our beloved legend ‘Solly Moholo’ has sadly passed on,” the statement said.
"He passed on 2nd October 2024 whilst in hospital.
"Solly Moholo was hospitalized after falling in following his pre album launch tour in Botswana. He will be sorely missed. May his laughter continue to echo the walls of heaven.
"Let us remember him fondly for the healing music he gave us over the years. At this time, the family would like to request that they be given privacy and time to mourn the passing of Ntate Solly Moholo and prepare for his burial.”
