VIDEO: Buildings torched as violence erupts in Klerksdorp

Several buildings and vehicles belonging to foreign nationals have been torched in Klerksdorp.

North West police says the violence apparently erupted after a taxi driver was stabbed to death on Sunday.
"Everything started yesterday after police found a male body with a stab wound. It came out later that the body was that of a taxi driver. Drivers later regrouped themselves and went to one of the local taxi ranks where they allegedly vandalised hawker's stalls and stole some property," says North West police’s Sabata Mokgwabone.
The violence also claimed the life of a Zimbabwean national.
"We also received reports that a Zimbabwean national was stabbed with a knife. He was certified dead on arrival at the hospital,” adds Mokgwabone.
Two cases of murder have been opened by police
Twelve suspects have been arrested and are facing charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and public violence.
