President Jacob Zuma attended part of the meeting and briefed the media before he left, saying the meeting was organised so that, when they go to Davos, Team South Africa would know what issues to raise to best improve South Africa's foreign direct investment.

President Zuma, along with ministers and business leaders, will depart for Switzerland next week to attend the annual economic forum from that convenes on Wednesday.

The theme of the gathering, which will see 250 political leaders in attendance, is "Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution"

President Zuma says it is important to identify the problems and how we, as a country, should address them.

"We are, in a sense, putting across South Africa as a destination for investment and, if that is the case, we need to articulate what are the challenges and also what are we doing and how are we going to receive the investors," he said.

Zuma added that South Africa is part of a continent and that Team South Africa should represent Africa at the forum as well.
