Bullets fly as VUT students square off with police

Students at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) on Thursday made use of mattresses, boxes and dustbins to shield themselves from rubber bullets fired by private security.
Private security have been trying to keep the protesting students away from the university.
Students have been throwing rocks and petrol bombs at police and security.
Students are protesting over the suspension of seven SRC members and are demanding that they be reinstated.
Police maintained a strong presence after the campus was extensively damaged during clashes between police and students.
