Vlakfontein suspect ‘confessed to killings at shebeen’
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
A suspect accused of killing his girlfriend and burying her body under a bed will appear before the Lenasia Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
Gauteng Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko says the suspect confessed to killing his girlfriend, as well as burying the bodies of other people, in different locations in the Vlakfontein area, south of Johannesburg.
“He has actually confessed there are other bodies hidden here and he will only speak to police so they can go identify the bodies.
“Police must thoroughly investigate and interrogate him and be able get where are the bodies,” she says.
The suspect allegedly confessed to the killings at the local tavern on Sunday after being interrogated by community members on the whereabouts of his girlfriend.
Mazibuko says the department will oppose any bail application until all investigations have been completed.
