Warm, hot, very hot

A fine day across the country, with a watch for heavy rain over parts of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS:
1.Gale force south-easterly winds (62-70km/h) are expected between Cape Columbine and Hermanus including the Cape Metropole.
2.Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central part of the Northern Cape.
WATCHES:
1.Heavy rain is expected in places over the extreme eastern parts of the Eastern Cape and southern KwaZulu-Natal.
Gauteng: Fine and hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy an warm.

Mpumalanga: Fine and warm but hot in the Lowveld, becoming partly cloudy with
isolated afternoon in the southern Highveld.

North West: Partly cloudy, windy and hot to very hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme west.

Free State: Warm in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and hot with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the north. It will be windy in places in the west.

Northern Cape: Cool along the coast with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and warm, but hot to very hot in the east becoming partly cloudy in the southern high-ground and the east with isolated thunderstorms, but scattered in the south-east.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly but fresh at times during the afternoon.
Kimberley: 19 34
Western Cape: Fine over the West Coast District where it will be hot in places, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with light rain along the south coast and adjacent interior but isolated afternoon thundershowers over the north-eastern parts.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly north of Cape Columbine, otherwise fresh to strong south-easterly but Gale force between Saldanha Bay and Hermanus from afternoon.
Cape Town: 18 22
Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate south easterly.
EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE:

Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the east. It will be cool in the south west. The wind along the coast will be Light south westerly becoming moderate southerly to south easterly in the south.
Port Elizabeth: 15 20
KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm becoming cloudy in the afternoon with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers in the south, otherwise isolated. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly in the south otherwise north-easterly.
