Was last night the coldest this winter?

Temperatures have plummeted across South Africa as a cold front sweeps over the country.
Many are wondering if the cold front brought some of the coldest temperatures we've seen so far this winter.
But, the South African Weather Service says no.
It says the temperature in Gauteng on Thursday 17 August was not the coldest temperatures recorded this season.
