WATCH: Bafana lands back to hero's welcome

National soccer team Bafana Bafana landed back at the OR Tambo International Airport in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Bafana Bafana walked away with the bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), beating the Democratic Republic of Congo 6-5 on penalties in the tournament third-place play-off on Saturday night.
It's not only the bronze medal that landed on home soil this morning, fans also gathered to see Captain Ronwen Williams lifting his award for Goal Keeper of the tournament.
The team was welcomed by government dignitaries including sports minister Zizi Kodwa, SAFA president Danny Jordaan, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, EFF Leader Julius Malema and other players.
Hundreds of supporters gathered in the arrivals halls from before sunrise to see their national soccer heroes.
