The Centurion Lake Hotel has flooded following almost a week of persistent rain.

Tshwane EMS's Charles Mabaso says a number of places are experiencing flooding.

At the hotel, flooding started on Monday morning with reception having to be evacuated.

"Everybody is safe, but they have gone to the upper floors," says Mabaso, noting that guests can not leave the hotel yet.

He adds that there is flooding being experienced throughout Centurion, includes in informal settlements,

"Coming down the Apies rive, the low water bridge in Parktown also got flooded and has been monitored since yesterday," he says.
