[WATCH] Leopard darted after hiding in Benoni laundry room
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre says a young male leopard has been darted after he was discovered in a laundry room of a house in Benoni.
The 4 to 5-month-old leopard was hiding away in a back-laundry room in Elm Street on Monday.
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre's Judy Davidson says there will be a so-called soft release of the animal to ensure that the leopard can successfully hunt and survive.
The animal will be rehabilitated in Pretoria.
Davidson says probes are underway to determine where the leopard came from and how it ended up in Benoni.
