Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is set to get the interviews for the position of Chief Justice underway on Tuesday morning.
Former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng’s term as the head of South Africa’s judiciary came to an end at the start of October last year.
Since then, the seat has been vacant amid a lengthy vetting process for a new head of the judiciary.
The final four candidates for the top job will be grilled by the panel between Tuesday and Thursday in Sandton.
Candidates include acting chief justice Raymond Zondo, Constitutional Court Judge Mbuyiseli Madlanga, President of the Supreme Court of Appeal Judge Mandisa Maya, and Gauteng Judge President Dunston Mlambo.
Madlanga is set to be the first candidate in the spotlight.
