Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
President Cyril Ramaphosa was set to address the nation on Monday amid the violence and looting in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
At least 6 people have died and more than 200 were arrested since the violence began in KZN on Friday.
Ramaphosa’s address came on the back of mass looting, the burning of buildings as well as violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement.
The unrest is believed to have been sparked by pro-Zuma supporters following the former head of state’s arrest.
Earlier on Monday, the South African army was deployed to the hotspots in both provinces.
