WATCH: Mbalula condemns N1 deadly taxi crash
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has conveyed his condolences after a taxi claimed the lives of ten people on Sunday.
It is reported the taxi collided with a lamp post in the centre of the N1 near the Buccleuch interchange in Midrand, north of Johannesburg.
Mbalula said the crash is a reminder of the carnage on the country's roads and road officials need to tighten rules and regulations.
"That is why we have the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) to undermine reckless driving, and anything that happens on the road and that leads to this particular carnage," said Mbalula.
Police investigations into the accident is ongoing.
