[WATCH] Patrice Motsepe tells Donald Trump 'Africa loves you'

In the meeting, which shows World Economic Forum (WEF) branding and appears to have been taken at a networking session, Motsepe tells the beleaguered President. "Africa loves America, Africa loves you."

Motsepe tells Trump a bit about the work his companies does, listing its skills in mining, financial services, and property. 

He hails Trump as "One of the greatest business minds."

According to Motsepe, "We want America to do well, we want you to do well."

He goes on: "The success of America is the success of the rest of the world."

Trump is currently facing impeachment proceedings back home and has been accused of having referred to African countries in a derogatory way before. 

Ir was not immediately clear though whether this video was taken at the current WEF meeting in Davos.

Social media users had a field day in response to the video, asking whether Motsepe was representing his country at the WEF meeting, and stressing that the views expressed are not theirs.
