North West University (NWU)'s annual Rag celebration in Potchefstroom has been put on hold for the time being.

This after a storm in the area severely damaged a number of tents and audio equipment on Thursday at its Rag farm.
NWU spokesperson, Louis Jacobs says nine students sustained very light injuries like scratches and bumps in the process.
"We immediately started evacuation the whole Rag farm - busses were brought in to transport students back to campus," he says.
"Through the night we also had several operations where people actually went through the rag farm from one side to the other to determine if there is maybe anybody trapped under the tents that did collapse," says Jacobs.

The Rag farm will be inspected this morning to determine the extent of the structural damage caused and decide on whether the celebration will continue at all.
