The South African Defence Force (SANDF) arrived in Cape Town
on Monday morning as part of the effort to battle crime in the area.
The South African Defence Force (SANDF) arrived in Cape Town on Monday morning as part of the effort to battle crime in the area.
President Cyril Ramaphosa decided to deploy the SANDF to the worst affected crime areas in the province.
Police Minister, Bheki Cele, announced the decision in Parliament on Thursday evening.
At least 55 people died due to unnatural causes during one weekend earlier this month.
