Metro police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad confirmed on Tuesday morning that recent storms pushed down a concrete block fence which was holding sand in the area, triggering a mudslide.
"This, unfortunately, will set the work further back. I'm aware of the fact that the Department of Transport and Metro officials and the engineers' department are meeting this morning to determine the way forward."
"The road will still be closed, and we are not sure when the roadway will be open," he said.
