WATCH: Wits students continue protest against financial exclusion
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
Students from Wits University took to the streets again on Thursday to protest against financial exclusion, historical debt and a lack of funding.

On Wednesday a group of students disrupted classes and blocked various entrances to the university.
The SRC has vowed to continue with the protest until their demands are met.
The Johannesburg metro police’s Xolani Fihla says the Empire and Yale Road intersection was made inaccessible by the protesting students on Thursday morning.
“The intersection of Empire and Yale Road at Wits University in Braamfontein is blocked off to traffic with burning tyres, rocks and buses due to protest action by students. It is alleged that students who were being transported by buses into the university were made to get out by other students.

“Officers have been deployed to the area to help divert traffic and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.”
Wits has deployed additional security personnel at the institution’s entrances in an effort to continue academic activities.
