Water restrictions implemented in drought-stricken Limpopo
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The Mopani District Municipality has implemented water restrictions across surrounding towns, townships and rural areas.

This comes amid a decrease in the water levels in the Middle Letaba Dam, which supplies water to the district.
Mopani municipality spokesperson Witness Tiva says underground water has also run low, which will affect water supply to private boreholes.
The district will provide an additional 10 tanks to supply water to residents of particularly Modjadjiskloof.
“We’ve procured about 10 water tankers to distribute to the five local municipality just to add on those existing water tanks and also to augment critical water-supply in critical areas,”says Tiva.

He believes the area could be set for some rainfall soon, but the council will continue to monitor the situation.
