Water shortage expected to continue in Polokwane
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The shortage of water in Polokwane is set to continue with no timeline given for when supply will be restored.
The Olifantspoort plant went offline on Thursday for maintenance purposes, and the excise was expected to take 4 to 5 hours according to municipality spokesperson, Thipa Selala.
The Polokwane Municipality says the contractor doing work to clean the forebays and command reservoirs at the Olifantspoort plant could not finish at the anticipated time on Thursday night.
“As a result, water shortages will continue in all areas until the work is done,” says Selala.
He adds the municipality will continue with the deployment of water tankers in affected areas.
