Water tankers deployed due to equipment failure in Tshwane
Updated | By Eva Chipa
Around 70 water tankers have been deployed to areas around Hammanskraal due to technical issues at the Temba water treatment plant.
On Wednesday, the City of Tshwane temporarily shut down the plant after the water quality deteriorated due to maintenance problems and equipment failure.
The city said the equipment failures are not related to the work being done at the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment plant, but admitted repairs are taking longer than anticipated.
The roaming water tankers have been deployed to residents in affected areas which include Hammanskraal, Temba View, Suurman, Dipoye, Mashemong and surrounding areas.
It is estimated that the repairs will be completed by Friday.
