[WATCH] WC police investigating video of officer attacking colleagues

Authorities
in the Western Cape say they are aware of the video of a police officer
fighting with his colleagues.
The video shows a police officer attacking his colleagues as they tried to apprehend him on at a Mitchells Plain taxi rank on Thursday.
“Kindly be advised that the video clip you are referring to has been viewed by SAPS management and we are of the incident where a police member stationed at Mitchells Plain SAPS acted out of character,” says police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi
“The member has been referred to a medical facility for assistance, and while this aspect is being attended to, an internal investigation is underway.”
Officers, who in the video are seen getting hurt by the man, had to resort to using pepper spray on him then he fell to the ground.
Swartbooi added that there's no information at this stage to suggest that the officer was intoxicated.
