'We believe in your leadership', Makhura tells Gordhan
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
Gauteng Premier David Makhura on Tuesday threw his weight behind Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Makhura thanked Gordhan for his ethical leadership, shortly after news broke that Gordhan will have to appear in court on a charge of fraud.
The premier described Gordhan as an ethical leader after addressing the Open Tender Seminar in Midrand, and told him that many South Africans are prepared to support him through this difficult time.
Makhura said he hopes that Gordhan will feel their love and care with all that he is going through.
"On behalf of the government that I lead, without fear of contradiction, we believe in your leadership. We believe in your ethical leadership and we believe in your ability - even as you face this moment - to continue to work hard, to do your best to steer the economy on the right path. This is not for anybody else, but for the people of this country," Makhura said.
