The African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) came out in support of Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane during a prayer session held for her in Kwamhlanga on Friday.
The prayer session, held at the show grounds, also drew some of the country’s prominent political players which include the ATM, BLF and former SCOPA chair Themba Godi.
Women’s league President Bathabile Dlamini told journalists that the organisation will not allow Mkhwebane to be muzzled by “those that are in power”.

“We can’t allow women to be muzzled at all times because it has been happening. It is beginning to be the culture and practice for those that are in power to muzzle women they see as powerful and forthright and are not afraid to face whatever challenges,” said Dlamini.
