We want to save the ANC, says #OccupyLuthuliHouse movement

Those calling for the resignation of President Jacob Zuma held a press conference, announcing plans to #OccupyLuthuliHouse on Monday, but they were met with fierce resistance from the ANC Youth League in Tshwane on Friday. 

An organisation plagued by a dwindling electoral support, riddled with factional infighting and a perceived scramble for resources, now also finds its youth at loggerheads. 

The #OccupyLuthuliHouse movement wants President Zuma gone, saying the once-mighty ANC needs to be rebuilt. 

The movement's Gugu Ndima says the Youth League's disruption of their press conference is a signal of just how entrenched factionalism is in the party.

"We are calling out to society to come and support us on #OccupyLuthuliHouse and today was a micro-reflection of might happen (on Monday), but we are not deterred. We are not ashamed of what we did. We are members of the ANC. It is unfortunate that some believe that they are superior members. We remain resolute as young lions and lionesses of the ANC who want to save the ANC," she said.
