We warned you about Manana, says Gauteng EFF
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng says it warned the African National Congress (ANC) and South Africans about former deputy minister of higher education Mduduzi Manana.
Fresh allegations emerged this week alleging that Manana, who is currently a Member of Parliament, shoved his 53-year-old domestic worker down the stairs.
The 53-year-old later withdrew the charges.
Manana pleaded guilty to assaulting three women in September last year after video footage of him striking women at a restaurant went viral.
"It's terrible to have to have to say we said this would happen. We just didn't expect it to happen in less than 6 months since he was found guilty of assault last year," said EFF Gauteng chairperson Mandisa Mashigo.

"It's such a shame and a disgrace that up to now the ANC is still debating whether or not to remove him. In fact, he should have never set foot in Parliament because that man has had two prior convictions."
While the victim has withdrawn the charges, police are still investigating the matter.
Mashigo says the problem of gender-based violence is multipronged and needs women to be equipped to defend themselves.
She says women, even in the EFF, are subjected to the worst form of abuse by men.
