The Western Cape High Court has handed a life sentence
to Albro McLean (45) for raping his lesbian neighbour.
During the trial the court heard that McLean and the complainant were long-standing neighbours at the time of incident in 2017.
She received a phone call asking about the whereabouts of Mclean’s sister.
Once the complainant found McLean’s sister sitting on the stoep of her home, McLean appeared and the sister invited her inside the house. While sitting on the couch, the sister left to visit friends.
As the complainant was preparing to leave, the court heard how Mclean became aggressive and pushed the victim in order to prevent her from leaving. He then threw her on the bed and told her that he would “make her a woman”.
McLean, a confessed tik user, is no stranger to the long arm of the law.
In 2015 he was sentenced to five years imprisonment, fully suspended with conditions, for the sexual penetration of a minor.
He was still under the suspended sentence when he raped the neighbour.
