Western Cape police searching for suspects in deadly mass shooting

Police in the Western Cape have launched a manhunt for an unknown number of suspects involved in a mass shooting.
The suspects randomly opened fire at guests attending a birthday party in Mandalay, Mitchells Plain on Saturday night.
The eight victims, aged between 5 and 26, were admitted to hospital, with a 24-year-old woman later succumbed to her injuries.
“We have implemented the 72-hour activation plan to bring to book those responsible for a shooting incident last night in Mandalay which left a 24-year-old female fatally wounded and seven others hospitalised,” says the police’s Andre Traut.
Police have also deployed additional forces in the Lentegeur policing precinct to stabilise the situation and to support detectives with investigations.
