Wet Christmas expected in parts of SA
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The South African Weather Service has warned that large parts of the country could experience a wet Christmas.
The Northern and Western Cape will celebrate the festive weekend without any rain.
“At the moment, the rainfall is affecting the Northern Cape and the Western Cape today and tomorrow. The Cape provinces will not have any rain for the holiday weekend,” says forecaster Venetia Phakula.
Phakula says the rain will move to other parts of the country, including Gauteng.
“Moving towards Christmas the rainfall seems to be lingering over Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal and that will be for Christmas and the 26th and the weekend.
“The North West will only experience something in areas like Mafikeng and the rest of the province might not experience any rainfall at all.”
“Some parts of Mpumalanga might experience heavy rain on the 26th.”
