The Northern Cape High Court in Upington has sentenced two men to life behind bars for the murder of Poffader hotelier Leon Brits.
The 35-year-old Enrich Williams and 25-year-old Amatle Bareki were found guilty of murdering Brits in October 2020.
His body was found in a swimming pool on one of his properties.
The ruling comes after the court earlier found that wife Brits’ wife Suretha Brits hired Jacques Van Vuuren as a hitman to kill her husband.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Northern Cape spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane says Williams and Bareki were sentenced to life imprisonment.
The other two conspirators, his wife and Jacques van Vuuren, were sentenced to 25 years imprisonment after pleading guilty.
Senokoatsane says five years of Van Vuuren’s sentence was suspended after he turned state witness.
