Winnie Madikizela-Mandela: SA in a crisis
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela says she fears for the future of the country.
She was speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony in honour of fellow struggle icon Ahmed Kathrada at the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
"One, of course, has fears for our country. We wish he hadn't left at this particular time," said Madikizela-Mandela.
She said she can imagine how pained Kathrada was to have left during this difficult time for South Africa.
"All he has fought for is not what is going on today. It is a tragedy that he did leave as he saw what is happening today," she said.
Madikizela-Mandela said we cannot pretend South Africa is not in crisis.
"Our country is in crisis and anyone who does not see that is bluffing themselves."
