Woman killed, six injured in car crash in Ladysmtih
A woman was killed and six others were injured in a car accident in Ladysmith, northern KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Wednesday.
KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said the accident occurred on Settlers Drive.
“A woman believed to be in her twenties has sadly been killed. According to reports from the scene the car left the road and crashed into a large tree.”
Mckenzie said of the six surviving patients, three of them were critically injured, and KZN EMS rescue paramedics had to extricate two of the patients from the smashed wreckage.
The patients were treated at scene then transported to Ladysmith Hospital.
The exact cause of the crash was not known.
