Zille makes comeback as DA federal council chair
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Helen Zille has been elected as the new chairperson of the party’s federal council.

The former Western Cape Premier succeeds James Selfe, who held the position for some 20 years.
The announcement was confirmed by national spokesperson Solly Malatsi following the part’s federal council meeting in Johannesburg at the weekend.
Zille's return could have a major impact on Mmusi Maimane's future as leader of the DA.
Maimane has been under pressure from sections of the party after the DA suffered a 2% loss in voted in this year's general elections.
