Zuks Ramasia appointed acting CEO of SAA

South African Airways (SAA) has appointed Zukisa 'Zuks' Ramasia as its new acting CEO.
The announcement was made on Friday morning, with the board also providing an update on the resignation of former CEO Vuyani Jarana.
"The board of SAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Zuks Ramasia as the acting chief executive officer for SAA as of Monday,” said board member Thandeka Mgoduso.
"Ramasia, who is currently the general manager for operations, is an experienced executive with extensive aviation background.”
Jarana sudden resignation from the struggling national carrier, only 18 months after taking up the positions, shocked the markets.
He has cited a lack of support from the board as one of his reasons for resigning.
However, board chairman JB Magwaza disputed the allegations, saying SAA has done everything in its power to support Jarana.
