Zuma sends good wishes to Mamelodi Sundowns

President Jacob Zuma has sent good wishes to Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club ahead of their final match against Egypt’s Zamalek FC on Sunday in the CAF champions league, the top club competition on the continent.

The premier club football competition in Africa is held annually by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and features the top performing champions in their respective leagues, the presidency said in a statement.
“Mamelodi Sundowns carry the hopes of South Africa as they compete for the star of this competition in African football. We wish them well ahead of the match and are certain that they will bring the trophy home,” Zuma said.
Orlando Pirates FC is the only other South African team that has lifted the trophy, in 1995.
