Another Springbok tests positive for Covid-19
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The Springboks were forced to suspend training again on Monday following a positive Covid-19 test in the squad.
This is the second time in 10 days the Boks had to suspend training due to a positive test in the squad.
Lood de Jager returned a positive outcome and, because of his close contact with a number of squad members, the entire group has gone into isolation.
The players have been placed in preventative isolation prior to further PCR testing and a review of the testing data by the Medical Advisory Group (MAG),” SA Rugby said in a statement.
“An update will be issued following the review by the MAG and the further testing.”
At this stage it is unclear if the second Test against Georgia, scheduled to be played on Friday night, will go ahead.
It's also uncertain when the Boks will be able to resume training as they build up to the first Test against the British and Irish Lions on July 24.
