Over the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, Lewis Hamilton complained about severe back pain from the porpoising effect on the Mercedes saying “biting down on my teeth through pain and just adrenaline. I can't express the pain that you experience, particularly on the straight here. At the end, you're just praying for it to end."

After the race Carlos Sainz, stated, “We kindly asked the FIA to look into it, not listen to the teams so much and to listen to us. We are saying it’s getting to a point where we are struggling to handle this.”

Even though most teams are experiencing porpoising in one way or another, should the FIA intervene and adjust the regulations for 2022?

Track This panelist and racing driver Tschops Sipuka believes so. “If every single driver is complaining about it, then maybe something should be done about it.”

Avon Middleton, motorsport analyst and TopGear SA Director, ask if it’s fair to teams, like Red Bull, who have managed to get a hold on the porpoising effect?

“Of course, it suits people to change the rules because it’s going to allow them to change their cars,” he says in the latest episode of Track This.
