Springbok flyhalf Elton Jantjies won't be travelling to Argentina due to the pending arrival of his second child this week and has requested leave to be with his partner.

Lock Franco Mostert has been given a week off to rest in line with the SA Rugby brief to effectively manage national players. Mostert had a spell in the off-season with the Japanese club Ricoh Black Rams which incurred the wrath of the French club Lyon, to whom he had committed himself on a two-year deal.

Mostert may have to rethink his move to France following SA Rugby's recent announcement that overseas-based South African players will only be eligible to play for the Boks if they have in excess of 30 Springbok caps.

Lionel Mapoe has also been granted a brief rest and rehab period, while Rohan Janse van Rensburg has been given time off to attend the funeral of his late mother.

Ruan Combrinck remains on the injury list.

The Lions won't remember their last visit to the Argentine capital with fondness, as they fielded a second string line-up and went down 34-22, denying them the chance to secure a Super Rugby home final.

The Lions take on the Jaguares on Saturday evening in Buenos Aires at 23:40 (SA time).

Lions travelling squad:  Jacques van Rooyen,  Dylan Smit,  Ruan Dreyer,  Johannes Jonker,  Hencus van Wyk, Malcolm Marx, Robbie Coetzee,  Andries Ferreira, Lourens Erasmus, Marvin Orie,  Jaco Kriel, Kwagga Smith, Cyle Brink, Ruan Ackermann, Warren Whiteley,     Ross Cronjé, Faf de Klerk, Andries Coetzee, Shaun Reynolds,  Jaco van der Walt, Courtnall Skosan,  Anthony Volmink,  Harold Vorster,     Jacques Nel,  Sylvian Mahuza.
