The Buccaneers cruised into the final after beating Chiefs 5-0 on aggregate.

Fortune Makaringe opened the scoring in the 59th minute before Linda Mntambo netting the second goal on 80 minutes.

Deon Hotto scooped the Man of the Match award to help Pirates reach the final for the first time since 2014.

“Let me thank the name above all God for today’s encounter and going all the way into the final. It’s all about hard work and never die hard and getting my all for the team,” he said after the match.

“We came with a mind-set of coming here to say its 0-0, and it is going to be a different game, and we at least managed to get a victory. It’s very a big achievement going all the way to the final and we are looking forward to it.”

Coach Jozef Zinnbauer, who has returned from Germany, praised his defence for the victory over bitter rivals Amakhosi.

“For me it’s a good game and we won the game and that’s what important. I think we made a good game and we have not tipped the target we had to score. We have time and it was very calm, we played very good in the defence position.

“I am happy and congratulations to the team and congratulations to Hotto for the best player on the pitch. We worked good against the press and worked as a unit, and if it’s the things we need to focus in the next league game and we happy we are in the final. This final is for the supporters and they gave their support and believe in us.”

Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt admitted his team will have to go back to the drawing board.

“I think it’s a true reflection and it is something that we got to be knuckled down and work harder and do the other part of the game we are not doing, and we got to try get that right.

“First half was dominant but enough creation of chances, the second half the ball was over the line but I am not sure, and ten seconds later, they run down the other side and score, and that ball goes in, and there is really nothing much to say about the situation.”

Pirates will take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the final on December 12 at a venue yet to be determined.
