Sirino handed 2-match ban and fine for assault

The PSL Disciplinary Committee has finally ruled in the case involving Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino.

The committee on Monday found the Uruguayan attacker guilty of assaulting SuperSport United players Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman.
He was handed a two-match ban and a heavy fine.
The Uruguayan player has been under investigation by the committee for eight months following the incident during the MTN8 semi-final last year.
“Mamelodi Sundowns is ordered to pay a fine of R200 000 of which R150 000 is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that they are not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension,” the DC committee ruled.
“Gaston Sirino is ordered to serve a two-match suspension and pay a fine of R75 000 of which R25 000 is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that they are not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.”
Sundowns and Sirino were also ordered to pay for several sittings of the Disciplinary Committee.
