South African Harding eases to Kenya Open title

South Africa's Justin Harding fired a final-round 66 on Sunday to secure his second European Tour victory with a two-shot win at the Kenya Open.

The 35-year-old, who also won the 2019 Qatar Masters, led by two strokes overnight and a five-under fourth round saw him finish on 21-under-par for the tournament in Nairobi.

American Kurt Kitayama, Harding's playing partner, also carded a 66 to finish on 19-under.

An excellent run of form two years ago saw Harding break into the world's top 50 and finish in the top 15 at the Masters, but his last top-10 effort before this week came last September.

"I went through such a good run in 2019 when it felt like I never actually played badly," he told europeantour.com.

"Getting over the line in Qatar was, it sounds a bit strange now, but it was almost like something that was going to happen.

"I've been through a dip in form in terms of mixed results and it was nice to get over the line this time around."

Kitayama put the pressure on with an eagle on the sixth hole, but the key moment came on the par-four ninth when Harding responded with an eagle of his own.

Scotland's Connor Syme finished third, four shots behind Harding.
