Jacobs, who initially joined the club in 2020, was contracted until June 2024.

The 23-year-old has already won two Currie Cup trophies in his 35 appearances for the men in blue, scoring 24 tries in the process.

Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone says its important for the franchise to retain its top talent as it continues with its quest for European glory.

“We have seen the demands of playing in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship and the Heineken Champions Cup, and they require one to have a great depth of top talent in order to have a good chance at competing for silverware. We are fortunate to already have some of the best players on our roster and retaining them is just as critical as acquiring them.

Jacobs said the decision to extend his stay was an easy one.

“Extending my stay was one of the easiest things to do because I know where we are as a team and where want to be, and I am confident that we are going places because we all share the same desire and hunger for success.

“The Vodacom Bulls have been incredible support pillars for me, especially during this downtime whilst I am recovering from injury. I have adjusted comfortably and now I can confidently call Loftus home and it is the place I would like to call home for the next few seasons too.”
