South Africa's Olympic athletes received a hero's welcome at OR Tambo International Airport Tuesday morning.
The athletes, including gold medal winner Caster Semenya, touched down in Johannesburg this morning.
South Africa won ten medals at the Olympic Games in Rio, the country's best performance since re-admission.
Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula welcomed the athletes back, saying he is proud of all of them.
"You are a bunch of winners, we are proud of you," he said.
Mbalula says the performances at the Olympics is proof that South Africa is a winning nation.
"This is the South Africa we are talking about when we say we are a winning nation. Nelson Mandela's legacy of a winning nation lives on."
