Willett cracks world top 10
Updated | By AFP
Englishman Danny Willett has broken into the top 10 of the world rankings for the first time after his dramatic victory in the Masters at Augusta on Sunday.
Willett was ranked outside the top 100 as recently as November 2014 but on Sunday he became the first Briton since Nick Faldo in 1996, and the first European since Jose Maria Olazabal in 1999, to win the green jacket.
As a result, the 28-year-old has jumped up three places from 12th to ninth in the latest rankings released on Monday.
American Jordan Spieth surrendered his title in stunning fashion as he became the latest man to be swallowed up by Amen Corner.
He stays second behind Australian Jason Day after a quadruple bogey at the 12th at Augusta that will live long in the memory, with Rory McIlroy third.
