We get an update on the project

BACKGROUND:

December 2010, A-Rod met Jeannie while he was visiting Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve with Fanie Swanepoel during the Week for the Disabled. The Friends of Moreleta Kloof is raising funds to build a wheelchair friendly trail through the Nature Reserve, along the route they need to build rest points, a big bird hide suitable for everyone, restrooms and much more to make this suitable for ALL.

In 2011 Jacaranda 94.2 hosted its first ever Jacaranda Day for ALL and celebrated Earth Hour! Selling Jacaranda Day t-shirts to our loyal listeners at the event we decided to donate all proceeds to The Friends of Moreleta Kloof AND match that amount with Good Morning Angel Golf day Funds a total of R48,000.00

ORIGINAL REQUEST

Good Afternoon,

I am dealing on the behalf of the Friends of Moreletakloof. I am one of the Directors and have a very keen interest in this Nature Reserve ( may be thinking this is my piece of land) My name is Jeannie, I met Arod on the the day he visited Moreletaklooof with Fanie Swanepoel for your Week for the Persons with disabilities (early December 2010). We had a very nice morning and sat down talking to Mathys Roets.

We are planning to build a new Wheel chair Friendly Trail in the Moreletakloof, and would like to present the Project to all the interested persons, the sponsors, and the media (radio and print).

When the people arrive we would like to offer them a walk on part of the Trail, if they are interested or else they can enjoy, soft music while they take a look at the slides and enjoy a good glass of wine. We will have a display of what we would like to offer. When the rest, that took the walk return we would like to do the presentation of the plans to build this trail. Afterwards we would like the people to stay around and enjoy themselves, watching the Zebra, Blesbuck and Springbuck playing on the grass, and if its their choice, enjoy a meal at Rademeyers, at the same Venue.

This is my idea only, and can be changed .We would like Jacaranda 94,2 to be part of this presentation, because you are part of Pretoria.

The people that dealt with Arod, Fanie Swanepoel contacted me and I was part of the walk (or difficult ride) that they undertook. Nature Conservation gave their permission, and we had Dr Pieter Aucamp do the impact study that we needed, and handed into Environmental Management. I hope we can be partners in offering this wonderful piece of Nature to persons with disabilities.

Regards
Jeanni
