Shocking Randfontein armed robbery puts crime in spotlight again
Another armed robbery has been caught on CCTV cameras, this time shockingly taking place right outside a homeowner's gate.
Crime in South Africa continues to be an ongoing problem for many.
Video footage from an armed robbery in Randfontein, Gauteng has emerged on YouTube page CrimeWatch.
The footage shows a bakkie pulling into a driveway. Just a few seconds later a second car pulls up behind the bakkie and two armed men jump out. They can then be seen ripping the doors open.
One of the robbers is carrying a rifle and can be seen grabbing the vehicle’s driver and forcing them to lie face down in the driveway. The rifle-wielding man keeps the driver down while the second robber goes through the vehicle.
The getaway car then reappears facing the other direction. The one robber heads back to the car while the other gives one last body search to the bakkie’s driver lying on the ground. Then it’s one more check of the bakkie before the getaway car heads off.
We have seen a number of robberies taking place in driveways. We urge you all to be a lot more vigilant when pulling into your driveways.
