Some have received the comments in a  positive light and some found the comment unfair and offensive.

After the statements released by the radio station saying they stand behind Tumi, she has finally publicly spoken out about the issue.

I have remained quiet for the past few days and watched things spiral out of control. Hate begets hate, let's not perpetuate it... 1. I stand by my statements. Unapologetically. 2. The station stands by my statements 3. South Africa is a diverse country with many different view points, which matter. 4. I would be remiss not to address the furor about my sentiments and I decided to reach across to other side. I was not forced. 5. I needed to be proactive and so I exercised my agency in listening to views different from my own. 6. It’s important to engage each other across our differences. And also, stop giving voice to the extreme right and left who hijack these kinds of convos to forward their own agenda. 7. We need to listen to each other as a country, and move together to solve the problems facing our joint futures.
