LIVE UPDATE: Elma Smit ready to rock the Rugby World Cup in Japan

Elma Smit is currently capturing the madness both on and off the pitch in Japan - Martin Bester catches up with her ahead of the Springbok's first RWC match.

Mere hours before the South African rugby team open their RWC pool commitments against New Zealand on Saturday, 21 September, Martin Bester wanted to find out from Elma Smit what the vibe was like in Japan.

Elma told the team that Japan is extremely hot and humid, but that the atmosphere in the country is electric. Thousands of rugby supporters from across the globe are there and getting ready for the RWC to start.

"Fans actually queued for three hours in the heat, on a public holiday to go watch Whales train. 15 000 people stood in the queue," she told Martin.

Elma is in Japan to host Rugby World Cup Daily, a rugby lifestyle show that can be watched on the Rugby World Cup's Facebook page. The first episode features Japan's favourite Welshman Shane Williams and a visitors' cultural guide from comedian Yuriko Kotani. The episode also features Jonny Wilkinson and Bryan Habana.
